Rethink in Systems Engineering.

What Is Systems Engineering?
A Consensus of Senior Systems Engineers

Here we talk about the system’s life cycle.

Use SIMILAR to describe the seven tasks in systems engineering process.

S – State the problem.

I – Investigate alternative.

M – Model the system

I – Integrate

L – Launch the system

A – Assess performance

R – Re-evaluation

Social Computing: From Social Informatics to Social Intelligence

Fei-yue Wang, 2007 @ IEEE Intelligence System

The idea of social computing can be traced back to 1945.

But today’s focus is artificial social agent.

Here is a theoretical underpinnings, infrastructure, and applications of social computing.

Level 2: Applications: Online communities, Business and public sector ( Recommendation, forecasting, decision analysis, e-goverment), Interactive entertainment.

Level 1: Technological Infrastructure

Level 0: Theoretical underpinnings

Questions here:

1. Though the concept is set up completely, where is the minimum point of this topic?

2. To present the social information and knowledge, the semantic web and ontology are promising in providing the tools and formalism for such specifications.

How to connect this issue with systems thinking?

3. What is so called agent-based social modeling?

4. We have applications case in analyze and prediction. How to contact decision-making with those applications?

Social Computing, Behavioral Modeling, and Prediction

Issues:

  • Representing social information and knowledge.
  • Agent-based social modeling.
  • Analysis and prediction.

social intelligence.

Can I make up a “Leader Intelligence”?
